The Sankei wrote PCA has rejected China’s illegal nine-dash line territorial claims and called for international pressure to request China to abide by the ruling. The newspaper said China’s rejection of the ruling has isolated it in the international community. The Asahi urged China to accept PCA’s ruling and act as a responsible country in line with international law. The Nikkei also ran an article to request China to comply with international law.
