Kien Giang urged to boost maritime economy while protecting national sea, islands sovereignty
(VOVworld) – A delegation of the State Steering Committee on the East Sea and Islands led by Deputy Foreign Minister Ho Xuan Son held a working session Thursday with Kien Giang provincial authorities. Mr. Son briefed the local government on the current situation in the East Sea and Vietnam’s external activities to defend its territorial integrity. He hailed local authorities for their work safeguarding Vietnam’s sea and islands sovereignty and asked the province to enhance cooperation with Cambodia’s border provinces. He urged Kien Giang to enhance its management of Vietnam’s land and maritime border while developing a sustainable maritime economy.

Also on Thursday, representatives of the Committee for International Non-Governmental Organisation (INGO) Affairs had a working session with Kien Giang province to discuss ways to enhance their coordination and information sharing on INGO funding and assistance.
