Laos keen on energy cooperation with Vietnam

(VOVworld) – Vietnam and Laos should review projects and survey each side’s potential so that both sides can embark on joint energy projects.

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung made the statement at Thursday’s reception in Hanoi for visiting Lao Deputy Minister of Energy and Mining Viraphong Viravong.

Mr. Dung said the two countries should explore the possibility of connecting their power grids so that Laos can sell electricity to Vietnam.

Mr. Viravong said leaders of the Lao Party, State, and government are very keen on power generation and transmission and want to boost cooperation with major Vietnamese energy firms.
