Leaders pay homage to President Ho Chi Minh, heroic martyrs

(VOVworld) - Party and State leaders paid tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh and heroic martyrs in Hanoi on Tuesday to mark the 70th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Police and 10 years of the “All people protect the national security” movement on August 19.

The leaders included Party chief Nguyen Phu Trong, President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan.

At the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the leaders expressed their deepest gratitude for the late President’s great services to the nation’s revolutionary cause.

Later, they laid a wreath at the nearby monument to heroic martyrs to commemorate those who laid down their lives for national liberation.

The same day, a delegation of the Ministry of Public Security led by Politburo member and Minister Tran Dai Quang paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and war martyrs.
