“Meeting Vietnam 2013” activities

(VOVworld)- The Meeting Vietnam Association and Binh Dinh provincial leaders on Monday inaugurated the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE). The ICISE is a French style architectural complex at a total cost of million USD, which consists of a three-storey international convention centre covering a total area of 200,000 m2 and includes seminar and function rooms.

Addressing the event, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan said that developing science, and technology along with education and training was the top national policy in the strategy for science and technology development through to 2020 and a key factor in the country’s rapid and sustainable development. The inauguration of the ICISE and international physics conference themed “Windows on the Universe” marked a significant milestone in the joint efforts of International scientists to help their young Vietnamese counterparts look the world’s most advanced sciences. The “Windows on the Universe” workshop attracted the participation of more than 200 Vietnamese and foreign scientists including five Nobel laureates. The plenary session and in-depth presentations including those by Nobel Prize winners Sheldon Glashow of the US and Klaus Von Klitzing of Germany covered nanophysics, astrophysics and cosmology.
