(VOVworld)- The 11th Global Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament has opened in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan led the Vietnamese delegation at the event, which takes place from Monday to Tuesday. Mrs. Ngan delivered a speech at the event, stressing the need to share experience among countries towards a low-carbon economy in response to climate change and ensuring gender equality.

She said Vietnam is one of the countries most affected by climate change. Vietnam ratified the Paris Agreement on November 3, 2016, before the Agreement took effect.
“With a sense of responsibility and international support, Vietnam has deployed national strategies on climate change and green growth. Vietnam ratified the Law on environmental protection which includes a chapter on climate change response. Vietnam has issued the law on national disaster prevention and the law on energy-saving,” Mrs. Ngan said.
