(VOVworld) – The first meeting of full-time deputies from People’s Councils of cities and provinces in the Red River Delta and the northern coast region was held in Nam Dinh province on Friday.

National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan attended the meeting. Participants said the Q&A session of the People’s Council had created a democratic forum, demonstrating the power of an agency elected by the people, the active work of National Assembly deputies, and the attention paid by leaders to voters’ concerns. The participants also discussed the People’s Councils’ oversight activities and measures to eliminate weaknesses in these activities.
