(VOVworld) – The 9^th session of the National Assembly Committee for Social Affairs opens on Thursday to discuss labor, employment, and social security. The Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs reported that more than 1 million jobs have been created nationwide since the beginning of this year, equivalent to 64% of the set target.

Assistance work for national contributors has been improved, including regular allowances to 1.5 million national contributors. The poverty rate is estimated to fall to 5.8% - 6% by the end of this year. Vocational training has been reformed to meet market demands.
Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs Pham Thi Hai Chuyen said: “The government has focused on improving general education for ethnic people and upgrading infrastructure in remote areas. They are given incentives to study and access vocational training in order to sustainably escape poverty. The government has built vocational schools for ethnic people and asked vocational centers to open training courses. Ethnic people in remote communities can go to school and stay in dormitories.”
