NA deputies discuss draft law on the organization of the government

(VOVworld) – The National Assembly Standing Committee discussed the draft law on the organization of the government on Tuesday. A number of deputies agreed on the position and functions of the government, others recommended specifying new regulations on the government’s executive power. Representatives from the Legal Committee said the draft law should regulate the legal status of the Prime Minister, mechanisms to elect the Prime Minister, the Prime Minister’s authority, and relations between the government and cabinet members. The deputies agreed that the draft law has yet to specify the Prime Minister’s responsibility to implement the mechanism of reporting important issues under the government’s jurisdiction to the public through the mass media. They also agreed that the draft law should not give too much responsibility to the Prime Minister.
