National Assembly Chairwoman visits Hungary

(VOVworld) - National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan met the Vietnamese Embassy staff and Vietnamese people living in Hungary as part of her official visit to Hungary on Sunday.

Ms. Ngan said the visit aims to deepen the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Hungary and its National Assembly. She reiterated that the Party, State, and National Assembly of Vietnam always support and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to serve national construction, defense, and development. The chief legislator added that the 5,000 Vietnamese people in Hungary are integrating well into local society while still preserving Vietnamese traditions. 

Earlier the same day, Ms. Ngan visited Szentendre, a sister city of Vietnam’s Hoi An, where she learned about Szentendre’s development and proposed closer economic cooperation, especially in tourism.

At a meeting in Budapest with Hungary’s National Assembly Deputy Speaker Jakab Istvan, Ms. Ngan said Vietnam is grateful for Hungary’s assistance during its past struggle for national liberation and today’s national construction. She said that the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation wants to strengthen ties with Hungary’s legislature, in the interest of stronger bilateral political and diplomatic relations.
