Most agreed on the government report on this year’s budget performance and collection plan for next year. These include the government’s efforts to address business difficulties, combat smuggling and trade fraud to promote socio –economic development. Deputies asked for solutions to clarify public debt and settlement plans and prevent wastefulness.

Deputies also discussed socio-economic development on Friday. They called for better solutions to address business difficulties, minimize public debt, raising productivity and housing allowances for public officials. Nguyen Duc Kien, a deputy from Soc Trang province, said:“Most of our forecast 2014 socio-economic development indicators have turned out to be correct. This proved a progress in economic analysis. We have seen improvement in Official Development Assistance disbursement as well as government bonds. A large chunk of bonds have been issued to ensure debt reverse to ease repayment pressure. The domestic currency has gained its value, consolidating investors’ trust.”

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development answered deputies’ questions on rice production and offshore fishing. The National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan asked the government to review its set targets for next year as Vietnam enters its final year of the 5-year plan and joining the ASEAN Economic Community.
