(VOVworld) – New Zealand’s ruling National Party has elected Bill English, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, as the party’s new leader. Paula Bennett was named deputy party leader. English replaces John Key, who resigned last week, as New Zealand’s new Prime Minister.

English, an experienced politician, will announce his cabinet later this weekend.
