(VOVworld) - Chairwoman of the 13th National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan was re-elected to head the 14th National Assembly during the NA’s its first session on Friday.

In a secret ballot on Thursday, 483 out of 494 deputies voted for Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan. The results were announced on Friday.

At the swearing-in ceremony, Chairwoman Ngan pledged absolute loyalty to the fatherland, the people, and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

She promised to do her best to fulfill the tasks assigned her by the Party, State, and people.

She then delivered a speech to the NA in which she promised to work with NA deputies to increase the quality of NA operations, and build a united and creative National Assembly that acts for the interests of the people, for the honor and pride of the nation, and for the sustainable development of Vietnam.
