(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said the reshuffle and reform of State-owned enterprises (SOEs) must be considered the most important task of 2017.

At a national conference on SOE rearrangement and reform on Tuesday, the Prime Minister stressed the need to create a proper roadmap and methods for the equitisasion of SOEs for better business management and a healthier, more transparent, more equal business environment. Phuc pointed to group interests as the largest obstacle hindering the progress of the equitisasion process. Mr. Phuc talked about the orientation to restructure state-owned enterprises next year: “It is crucial to define sectors in which the State needs to keep control and sectors eligible for equitisasion. The State should play a core role in public services and a number of areas of State responsibility, while withdrawing entirely or partly from the remaining fields”.
