PM Nguyen Tan Dung: Vietnam respects and prioritizes drug control and prevention

(VOVworld) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has received heads of delegations from Cambodia, China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) participating at the Ministerial Meeting of the Signatories to the Memorandum of Understanding on Drug Control of the Greater Mekong Subregional nations in Hanoi, led by UNODC Chief Regional Representative Jeremy Douglas.

The Prime Minister praised their role in active policies and initiatives to foster regional cooperation in drug control and prevention. He reiterated Vietnam’s respect and priority in drug control and prevention, cooperation with UN and the Greater Mekong Subregion to prevent the global threat.

He praised the UNODC in its cooperation with Vietnam and the region towards a subregion without drug. Mr Douglas spoke highly of Vietnam’s role and commitment in drug control and prevention and praised the conference in its joint program of actions to strengthen regional joint efforts in combating cross national crimes and drug control and prevention.
