(VOVworld) - On Thursday, the Palestinian Authority (PA) of President Mahmoud Abbas announced a partial reshuffle of the national consensus government’s cabinet, instead of dismantling it, as was originally announced in June. Under the plan, Sabri Saydam, former Minister of Communications and Information Technology will serve as the new Education Minister. Samih al-Abed will be Minister of Transportation. Sufian Sultan will be Minister of Agriculture and Abeer Odeh will serve as Minister of National Economy. 19 other cabinet positions remain unchanged. The new ministers will be sworn in on Friday at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah. Hamas called the reshuffle “unconstitutional and outside consensus," referring to it as a “coup.” Hamas spokesperson Sami Abu Zuhri said the cabinet reshuffle has put an end to any deal on an unity government by Hamas and the Palestinian Authority. He said the PA has become a separatist government.
