(VOV) – Delegations from the Party Central Committee, President’s Office, National Assembly, Ministry of National Defence and Ministry of Public Security, and Vietnam Fatherland Front today paid floral tributes to President Ho Chi Minh to mark the late President’s 122nd birthday on May 19.

An awards ceremony was held in Hanoi yesterday for a writing contest on the theme of “Studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example”. Out of some 700 entries, 19 received prizes - one first prize, 3 second prizes, 5 third prizes and 10 honorable mentions. Reporter Uong Thai Bieu won a second prize with a story about a scientist with a wholehearted devotion to the people saying ‘The significance of this contest is its influence and it’s not just the authors who are honored today’.

In Nghe An, the homeland of Ho Chi Minh, the 2012 Lang Sen (Lotus Village) Festival has begun. More than 20 art troupes are performing at the three-day event, which is one of many activities celebrating the 122nd birthday of Uncle Ho. Cao Dang Vinh is Director of the Nghe An provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism ‘We will organize an incense and floral offering ceremony for Uncle Ho. Sports events and a traditional music show have also been organized’.  

In Ha Tinh and Dac Lac province, photo exhibitions on President Ho Chi Minh and Party building are underway.
