(VOVworld) – Vietnam has shared its experience in promoting democracy and building people power at grassroots levels and affirmed unity was an important factor for Vietnam’s revolution.

Nguyen Tuan Phong, deputy head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, made the statement at the Latin American Progressive Meeting which concluded last Friday in Quito, Ecuador.  

During the stay in Ecuador, the delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam held talks with Fander Falconi, head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Ecuador’s ruling party Alianza PAIS.

Falconi lauded Vietnam’s economic achievements in recent years and Vietnam’s increasing role in Southeast Asia and affirmed that Ecuador wishes to expand cooperation in all fields with Vietnam.

The two sides agreed to increase exchanges of delegations and experience in party building and national construction.

Phong also met with Ecuador’s Vice President Jorge Glass and heads of delegations from the Communist Party of China, the Communist Party of Cuba, the Mexico Labour Party, and the Brazil Labour Party.
