(VOVworld) – A ceremony to announce the Politburo’s decision on appointing members of the Central Committee of the Police's Party for the 2015-2020 tenure took place in Hanoi on Wednesday.

The 16-member Committee has a 7-member standing board, including Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Tran Dai Quang, and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. This has been the first time during tenures that a party leader is included the Police’s Party Central Committee.  

Addressing the ceremony, Party leader Trong asked Committee to stay united and strong. He said: “Party building should be identified as key while the education of political ideology and tradition, as well as upholding responsibility and discipline are considered as primary tasks. Personnel work should decisive in streamlining the police force. Efforts should be made to strictly review and work out measures to prevent decadence of political ideology, morality, and lifestyle among the police force. It’s necessary to build the revolutionary people’s police to be an elite and modern force.”
