Party leader’s visit boosts Vietnam-China relations

(VOVworld) – Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s recent official visit to China has fostered Vietnam-China relations, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Hoang Binh Quan said in an interview with the press on Sunday.

He said Vietnam and China issued a 10-point joint communique which highlights the need to increase high-level meetings, cooperation, and exchanges between the two Parties, promote strategic connectivity, foster trade and investment ties, expand national defense and security cooperation, enhance people-to-people exchanges, and strengthen the social foundation. During the visit, 15 important documents were signed.

Mr. Quan called the visit a milestone in making Vietnam-China relations healthier, more positive and consolidated. He added that the implementation of their shared perceptions and agreements will help enhance trust, friendship and cooperation between the two peoples, and maintain peace and security in the East Sea.
