(VOVworld)- Politburo member and head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation Truong Thi Mai hosted a reception in Hanoi on July 26 for Victoria Kwakwa, who was recently appointed World Bank Vice President for East Asia and the Pacific.

Mai expressed her appreciation for Kwakwa’s policy consultation, her call for global funding for socio-economic development in Vietnam, and for the technical assistance in economic reform in Vietnam. Mai said she believes that Kwakwa will continue assisting Vietnam in socio-economic development and global integration. Speaking highly of Vietnam’s development potential, Kwakwa expressed her belief in the long-term prospects of Vietnam on the back of the Party and State leaders’ strong determination and speedy reform in key areas. She said The WB will continue helping Vietnam access global funding for socio-economic development, policy consultation and technical assistance, towards gradually realizing the goals adopted by the 12th National Party Congress.
