Vietnamese people nationwide are celebrating the Lunar New Year jubilantly. At the Spring Flower Festival in Tao Dan Garden in Ho Chi Minh City , a large number of visitors took the opportunity to relax and share the joy. Bui Thi Que is a local resident:“I enjoyed the atmosphere here. In the New Year, I wish for good health and happiness for my self and my family.”

In the first 3 days of the  Year of the Dragon, Dam Sen Cultural Park in Ho Chi Minh City welcomed 220,000 visits thanks to traditional folklore games.  

  The Keo pagoda of the northern province of Thai Binh has completed their preparation for the annual festival which falls on the 4^th day of the new lunar year. This is considered the biggest spring festival in the province. Nguyen Van Luan from the provincial Fatherland Front says that the 400 year old pagoda will have traditional ritual and folklore games during the festival:“We have encouraged people to ensure a safe and less costly celebration while preserving the traditional cultural identity.”
Khmer people in the southern province of Tra Vinh have joined 54 other brotherly ethnic groups to celebrate Tet as an opportunity to foster community bond.
Khmer people have prepared sufficient flowers, sticky rice cake and water melon to joy Tet. Thach Sang is from Chau Thanh district:“We celebrate the unity between Viet and Khmer people through the Tet and Cho Chnam Thmay festifal. We visit each other and  present gifts”

Monk Thach Ut from Tieu Can district says local people have enjoyed better living standards thanks to their efforts to escape poverty:“Thanks to the Party and State’s support, Khmer people have better job opportunity and education. We have preserved our tradition new year celebration. Local government provides the same care during our traditional new year festival regardless of Kinh or Khmer.”

The Party and State’s guidelines and policies have ensured a common Tet celebration for the whole community.
