Plan International supports Quang Ngai in poverty reduction

(VOVworld) – The central province of Quang Ngai appreciates the assistance of Plan International (Plan) – an international humanitarian development organization -  in poverty reduction, hunger elimination, and spiritual enrichment.

The provincial People’s Committee stated this at yesterday’s meeting with Plan to assess their past programs and sign a memorandum of understanding on upcoming projects in the 2013-2016 period. Plan has supported Quang Ngai in running 10 projects last decade that totaled 8 million USD. At the meeting, provincial leaders called for Plan’s further support, especially in mountainous communes and coastal areas. Glenn Gibeny, General Director of Plan International Vietnam, said that by 2016, Plan’s projects in Quang Ngai will help disadvantaged children and women at a cost of 2.5 million USD.
