Politburo member congratulates Vietnam Journalists’ Association

(VOVworld) – Dinh The Huynh, member of the Party Politburo and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education today visited the Vietnam Journalists’ Association and some media agencies on the 87th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. Mr. Huynh spoke highly of contributions by generations of journalists to national construction and defence. He urged the association and media agencies to continue reforms to provide quick, accurate, diverse, interesting and useful information. He said journalists need to work to strengthen the people’s trust in the party, the state and nation’s path to development: “More efforts is needed to make the contingent of Vietnamese revolutionary journalists aware of their firm political wills and professional ethnics. Whatever the circumstances, journalists should show their skills, spirit and responsibility for the country and the people to provide quick and accurate information on national construction and defence. Information should help direct public opinions, educate people, fight negative phenomena, corruption, wastefulness and misdemeanors.”
The party official asked the Vietnam Journalists' Association and media agencies to strengthen cooperation with their counterparts in the region and the world to keep abreast with modern journalistic trend while upholding Vietnam’s tradition of revolutionary journalism for national independence and sovereignty.
