(VOVworld)- The Communist Party of India held a meeting in New Delhi on Saturday to mark the 124th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh. In his address, the Party General Secretary Sudhakar Reddy reviewed the valuable friendship between President Ho Chi Minh and India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru who laid the foundation for the sustainable friendship between the two countries. Vietnamese Ambassador to India Nguyen Thanh Tan highlighted the life and revolutionary cause of President Ho Chi Minh. He also informed Indian leaders and people of the serious tension in the East Sea after China illegally deployed its oil rig Haiyang 981 in Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf. Tan said that China’s actions violated international law and the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and ran counter to the Declaration on the Code of Conduct of Parties in the East Sea. The delegates at the meeting voiced their strong support for and solidarity with Vietnam.
