President Putin’s 12th annual press conference

(VOVworld) - The 12th annual press conference by Russian President Vladimir Putin draw almost 1,500 journalists at the Kremlin Palace on Friday.

The news conference was initially scheduled for Thursday, but was rescheduled for the next day to allow President Putin to attend the funeral of Russian ambassador Andrey Karlov, who was assassinated in the Turkish capital Ankara on Monday. According to the President’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov, President Putin focused on Russia’s most important internal and international issues.

Also high on the agenda were the assassination of the Russian Ambassador to Turkey and Russia’s combat in Syria. Questions also centered around the Russian economy, social security, the development of the country’s armed forces, plans to address the situation in Syria, and Russia-US relations after President-elect Donald Trump takes office.
