President Tran Dai Quang greets new Ambassadors

(VOVworld)- On Wednesday, President Tran Dai Quang received new Ambassadors to Vietnam. Meeting them, President Quang urged the Ambassador to support Vietnam’s bid to become UNESCO Executive Director for 2017-2021 and a Non-Permanent Member of the UN Security Council for 2020-2021.

At a meeting with Moroccan Ambassador Azzeddine Farhane, the President asked Morocco and increase bilateral cooperation in finance and banking.

Receiving Japanese Ambassador Kunio Umeda, President Quang said Vietnam considered Japan its top partner and urged the Ambassador to contribute to promoting bilateral ties.

Receiving Serbian Ambassador Slobodan Marinkovic, the Vietnamese President said Vietnam treasured its relationship with Serbia.

President Quang receives Tajikistan Ambassador Parovit Davlatdoda

At a meeting with Tajikistan Ambassador Parovit Davlatdoda, Quang called for stronger cooperation in hydro-power, economics and trade.  He also Quang told Lithuanian Ambassador Inma Chiu Lionit that the two sides should increase exchanges and consultations to strengthen bilateral ties. Meeting Fiji Ambassador Isikeli Mataitoga, President Quang said Vietnam closely followed the situation in Fiji and the South Pacific.

President Tran Dai Quang also received Mauritius Ambassador Issop Patel. He urged the two countries to accelerate the signing of agreements on double taxation avoidance, investment promotion, and aviation. Receiving Portuguese Ambassador Assis Morais E Cunha Vazpato, Mr. Quang said Vietnam treasured its ties with Portugal and wanted Portugal to support the signing of the Vietnam -EU Free Trade Agreement and recognize Vietnam’s market economy status. Quang made the same request to Estonian Ambassador Marten Kokk urging the two countries to increase bilateral trade. He also said Vietnam was ready to serve as a bridge to help Estonia strengthen its cooperation with other ASEAN countries.
