President Truong Tan Sang meets voters in HCMC

(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang on Monday met with voters in district 1 in Ho Chi Minh city. He told voters that the law-making process must collect public opinions to improve their practicality.

He said people have the right to choose candidates for the coming 12th Party Central Committee. Regarding socio-economic development over the past 30 years, Sang said Vietnam has obtained significant achievements, people’s lives have been improved, and Vietnam’s international status has been raised.

Sang talked about Vietnam’s joining the TPP and other international trade agreements. “We cannot  gain immediate success after signing the TPP. We have to build a productive, high-quality, and competitive economy. We have to change our mindset, increase scientific and technological application, and prevent wastefulness. We have to learn from foreign models to gain further success.”

He acknowledged voters’ recommendations and promised to forward them to the National Assembly and the HCMC authority.
