(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang hailed the health sector’s achievements in recent times at a Friday reception in Hanoi for the most outstanding physicians and health workers nationwide, to mark Vietnam’s Physician Day on February 27^th.

President Sang said: "The health sector has made a giant leap forward. The Vietnamese people’s current life expectancy is around 73 to 74 years, which we should be proud of. Vietnam’s health sector has been highly praised around the world for our efforts to curb several major epidemics in our era. This reflects the sector’s great achievements in public healthcare activities."
He called on the sector to strive for better public healthcare services amid growing concerns over increasing population, pollution, and epidemics.
