(VOVworld) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung arrived in Hanoi on Saturday after attending the 5th Greater Mekong Sub region Summit.

Leaders from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, China, Vietnam and the Asian Development Bank Chairman agreed on a joint declaration pledging more efforts to turn transport corridors to economic corridors by lifting soft barriers to cross border connectivity. In transport and trade facilitation, a program of actions has been devised to ensure efficient transport of passengers and cargo crossing borders. Member countries agree to promote regional initiatives to boost private sector and competitiveness. They will pursue joint efforts in response to climate change and promote sustainable development and preservation of natural resources.

The Prime Minister joined the opening ceremony of Thai Vietjet joint venture airlines and received executives of the Petroleum Group of Thailand, Amata and Central groups. He welcomed the Thai businesses plan to invest in Vietnam and pledge support in their operations. He participated at the opening ceremony of a hall in commemoration of President Ho Chi Minh at the Vietnamese embassy.
