(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Saturday evening visited engineers and workers on the construction site of Deo Ca tunnel on national highway No1, linking Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen province.

He praised the efforts by those involved to ensure the progress of the projects which is very significant for socio-economic development of Vietnam, particularly for Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa. Prime Minister Phuc stressed that building a tunnel through mountains is a difficult job and requires high technology, but Vietnamese engineers and workers have managed to implement the project safely and make it 3 months ahead of schedule.

The Deo Ca project includes 2 parallel tunnels and each is more than 4km long. The main tunnel system was completed on June 21 and the whole project is expected to be completed by next year. It will help shorten three fourths of travel time.
