(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc welcomed investors to investment promotion conference in Thai Binh province on Saturday, expressing his pleasure over the optimistic signs of Vietnam’s agriculture sector. He stressed on farmers’ trust in the government’s determination to develop agriculture: “We need to apply the new thinking in agriculture. This is very important. And we need the advanced thinking of the 4^th industrial revolution to move Vietnam’s agriculture and rural areas forward.”

The Prime Minister said the current reform should be based on creativity, liberation and utilization of the private sector in all stages of the agricultural production value chain. In the current market economy, each locality needs to uphold the role of businesses, which a decisive factor for rural development. Mr. Phuc also called on Thai Binh to take the lead in developing smart, organic, and clean agriculture and industry and services for agriculture.

At the meeting, decisions were given to 33 projects worth more than 1 billion USD to be invested in agriculture and rural development.
