Prime Minister pays tribute to former Lao leader

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc led a delegation of Vietnamese officials to the Lao Embassy in Vietnam on Monday to pay tribute to the late former Chairman of the National Assembly of Laos Saman Vinhaket.

Saman Vinhaket, who died last Friday, was a former Politburo member and former head of the Steering Committee for Ideology, Theory and Culture of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee.

Mr. Phuc wrote in the book of condolences to express his regret for the death of the former Lao leader. The same day, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong sent a wreath to the ceremony, and delegations from Vietnam’s Party, State, National Assembly, and capital city also paid tribute to the late leader at the Embassy ceremony.
