Prime Minister receives leaders of Jardines Matheson, Uniliver groups

(VOVworld) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted a reception for Chairman of UK-based group Jardines Matheson in Hanoi on Friday.The Prime Minister told Henry Keswick that Vietnam has initiated various measures to improve its business and investment climate in line with international standards and Vietnam’s free trade commitments. He promised favorable conditions for the group’s business expansion in Vietnam to boost bilateral ties. Henry Keswick expressed his wish for long-term investment in Vietnam and expected more support from Vietnamese agencies.

During his reception for Paul Polman, CEO of Unilever, a UK-Dutch multinational group, the Prime Minister spoke highly of the group’s investment and cooperation with local firms in high technology and agriculture together with improving income for farmers and developing rural areas. Polman said that Vietnam is an important market of Unilever.

Since its presence in Vietnam in 1995, Unilever has not only invested in production but also in human development. The Unilever leader committed to continuing long-term business in Vietnam and wished to continue receiving the Vietnamese agencies’ support.
