Prime Ministers of Vietnam, Lao meet

(VOVworld) -  Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc held talks with Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith on Wednesday on the sidelines of the 9th Summit of the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam (CLV) Development Triangle Area in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

The two leaders agreed to increase delegation exchanges and meetings of high-ranking officials, complete the agreement on collaboration between the two governments in 2016 to lay the foundation for the implementation of a Vietnam-Laos cooperation agreement until 2020, make thorough preparations for the upcoming 39th session of the Vietnam-Laos trans-governmental committee, and carry out joint projects for mutual benefits.

The same day, Prime Minister Phuc received representatives from the Association of Vietnamese Expatriates in Siem Reap, where he said he understood their difficulties and asked the Vietnamese Embassy and Consul General in Cambodia to protect the legitimate rights of overseas Vietnamese and help them learn the Vietnamese and Khmer languages. He said he hopes the Association in Siem Reap will unite, love, and help each other, abide by the host country’s laws, jointly overcome all hardships, and contribute to the development of Cambodia.

On the occasion, PM Phuc presented five tons of rice to needy Vietnamese in Siem Reap.
