(VOVworld)- During her official visit to Italy from May 26 to 29, National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong met with leaders of Communist Parties there.

Ms. Phong spoke highly of the cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Communist Party of Italy and the Communist Refoundation Party. She expressed her hopes for future development of bilateral relations. Paolo Ferrero, General Secretary of the Communist Refoundation Party pledged to stay side by side with the Communist Party of Vietnam in the world-wide proletarian movement. Ugo Moro, member of the Communist Party of Italy’s Politburo, said Vietnam’s achievements offer practical lessons for his party during its current reform.

National Assembly Vice Chairwoman visited the Communist Party of Italy’s committee in the Veneto region based in the northern city of Mestre. General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong is an honorable member of this committee.
