The ministry revealed the figure at a conference held in Hanoi on Friday to encourage foreign investors to engage in the sector’s development projects. The ministry needs an estimated 3.8 billion USD from now to 2020 to implement its development strategies and plans. It expects to mobilize around 200 million USD worth of ODA fund to acquire advanced equipment, facilities and technology. Lieutenant General Bui Xuan Son, Deputy Head of the MoPS’s General Department of Logistics and Technology, said: "The ministry will carefully prepare an assessment on demands before making any proposals for ODA and foreign investment in accordance with international law. Priority will be given to key projects to address social problems including firefighting and fire prevention, search and rescue activities, healthcare, and traffic safety."
