(VOVworld) – The Ministry of Planning and Investment and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) on Monday co-hosted a conference on improving the central role of the central budget, increasing resources for development investment, and revising the law on the State Budget.

Delegates suggested that the revision of the law on the State Budget should focus on decentralizing the input sources and giving the local administrations more authority to exploit, manage, and use their budget collection from land and housing fees.

"In order to ensure the central role of the state budget, it’s necessary to focus resources to the central budget. We have to adjust the regulations on decentralizing expenditure tasks. The central budget will be used in national strategic activities to regulate the macro-economy. The local budget will be used to run the local administration and basic administrative services."
