(VOVworld) – A special art festival for Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Thailand opened in Quang Tri province on Monday.

The five best performances of the week-long festival will be chosen for other public shows in Quang Tri (baochinhphu.vn)

Twenty-one art troupes will stage some 200 performances featuring the traditional culture of each country. Vuong Duy Bien, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said: “The festival will promote Vietnam’s land and people and strengthen the time-honored friendship and solidarity between neighboring countries in the Mekong Delta region and ASEAN member nations. The festival will boost human resource training and management and encourage the national arts.
