Reviewing exhibitions on Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos

(VOVworld) – Forty-one exhibitions in 30 provinces and cities, and 11 islands and island districts have been held over the past two years displaying maps, documents, publications, and objects proving Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.

The exhibitions have helped Vietnam affirm its sovereignty over the two archipelagos, inspire educate patriotism and national solidarity among generations of Vietnamese people, and raise the awareness of people from all walks of life about the importance of the national construction and defense.

At a meeting in Hanoi on Friday, Doan Cong Huynh, director of the grass-root information department, said that“as requested by the Prime Minister, we’ll organize similar exhibitions nationwide and bring them to Russia, France, the Czech Republic, and the US. We hope the exhibitions will inspire overseas Vietnamese in those countries to donate materials that will help spread awareness across those regions.”

The exhibitions of historical and legal evidence of Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos began in Ha Tinh province in June, 2013, and concluded in Dien Bien province this month. After each exhibition, maps and other materials were presented to the local province for use in further communications.
