In elections since 1993, the CPP has won the support of the majority of the Cambodian people and has now become the political pioneer in Cambodia. Hun Sen reiterated that the CPP always supports the Royal Government in the Rectangular Strategy phase 3, the development plan for 2014 – 2018, and reform policies which have helped Cambodia achieve an annual economic growth rate of 7%, reduce poverty, generate more jobs, and improve public services.  He said he hopes for Cambodia’s closer links with other nations, foreign partners, and international organizations to ensure peace, democracy and development.
