Russia calls for the West’s cooperation to consolidate security in Europe

(VOVworld) –Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, said this week that open and pragmatic relations between Russia and NATO will help to consolidate security in Europe.

Addressing the sixth Moscow Conference on International Security on Wednesday, General Gerasimov said the West and Russia have begun to understand each other’s interests and concerns, establish a pragmatic dialogue, and gradually strengthen mutual trust.

Gerasimov said this process should take place on an equal, trusting, and constructive basis, because such a scenario will improve security and stability in Europe. He said resolute solutions are needed to stabilize the situation and ensure equal and undivided security for all European people.
