Russia forced to adjust foreign policy in response to challenges and risks

(VOVworld) – Russia’s adjusted foreign strategy is completed, said President Vladimir Putin on Thursday at a meeting in Moscow with Russian ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions.

He said with unstable and unpredictable international issues, challenges, and threats, Russia needs to consistently adjust its foreign policy in politics, economics, humanitarian aid, and communication. The adjusted strategy aims to ensure global peace and stability and to create an equal and democratic world order on the principle of the UN Charter.

Putin urged Russia’s diplomatic sector to prevent conflicts and hot spots with priority to its border areas, to consolidate its sovereignty and to protect the benefits of the Russian Federation.

Russia needs to step up the establishment of a cooperation environment with other countries to help turn Russia into a democratic nation governed by law and with society-oriented market economy.

Putin affirmed his strategy to create an economic environment unified with the European Union for long-term and sustainable development.

He also underscored the rising threats of conflict which can only be solved via dialogues and cooperation and called on the international community to build a fairer world order on the principle of shared responsibility and united security.
