(VOVworld) – Vladimir Putin’s Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Saturday that the retirement of Syrian President Bashar Al Assad would lead to the victory of terrorists and new migration waves, which is considered to be the disastrous consequence for the whole region.

Dmitry said, in order to reach a political solution, Assad needs to stay in power. The conflict in Syria over the past 6 years is not resolved yet due to the disagreement between Russia and Western countries regarding Syrian President Assad’s future. Syria’s opposition, supported by the West, insists on Assad’s retirement. However, Syrian government and Russia reckon President Assad’s future must be decided by Syrian citizens.
