(VOVworld) – A group of scientists from Queen Mary University of London on Wednesday announced that they have discovered a planet outside our solar system that may have life on it.

The new planet, called Proxima b, is at least 1.3 times bigger than the Earth. It is located within the habitable zone where liquid water is possible. The newly discovered planet is only 4.2 light-years away from Earth, and based on today’s spacecraft technology, it will take 70,000 years for a human to reach it.
Scientists discovered this planet while analyzing data and images from the Proxima Centauri star, collected at the South European Observatory in Chile.
