(VOVworld)- The Singapore Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City held a meeting on Friday to mark the 50th Anniversary of National Day of the Republic of Singapore. At the ceremony, Consul General Leow Siu Lin highlighted Vietnam-Singapore economic cooperation and Vietnam’s economic growth, noting that numerous Singaporean firms pursue long-term investment in Vietnam and are seeking opportunities to expand their production and business. The Consul General said that people-to-people exchange has been intensified as HCM City and surrounding provinces are inhabited by about 3,000 Singaporean people while many Vietnamese are also living in Singapore. By the end of 2014, Singapore had 719 investment projects in HCM City, totaling US$ 8.2 billion and bilateral trade between Ho Chi Minh city and Singapore reached US$4.4 billion.
