Singapore’s Prime Minister begins Vietnam visit

(VOVworld)-Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong arrived in Ho Chi Minh city on Tuesday, beginning a 4-day official visit to Vietnam. Meeting with municipal leaders, Prime Minister Lee stressed that the effective operation of Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks in many localities across Vietnam is the symbol of bilateral economic cooperation. He said he believes that the Singaporean business community will continue to see Vietnam in general and HCM city in particular as a successful investment destination.

Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong hailed Singapore’s contributions to promoting education and building a civilized urban area in HCM city.

“We promise to create the best conditions for foreign investors to do business in HCM city. We believe that Singapore’s investment will continue to contribute enormously to local socio-economic development,” Mr. Phong said.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong met with representatives of Singaporean businesses in HCM city and attended the inauguration of Mapletree building.
