(VOVworld) - A ceremony took place in Thai Nguyen province on Wednesday to announce the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee to establish the City of Song Cong and mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Song Cong town.

In his address, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc called on Song Cong’s authorities to tap all potentials, improve the local people’s living standards, and build new-style rural areas.

He underlined the need for the city to “continue to implement the resolution on Party building and the Politburo's Directive 03 on continuing to follow President Ho Chi Minh's moral example and try to build a strong Party Committee and an ethical and resilient political system.”

“Song Cong authorities should resolutely repel bureaucracy, corruption, and wastefulness and successfully hold Party congresses at all levels towards the 12th National Party Congress to create a firm foundation for Song Cong’s future growth,” according to Mr. Phuc.

Deputy PM Phuc presented Vietnam’s Independence Order, third class, to the authorities and people of Song Cong city.
