South Korea's foreign ministry spokesman Cho Joon-hyuk said there is concern that North Korea might use revenue from the industrial complex to develop its nuclear program and violate resolutions of the UN Security Council. Mr. Cho said that in order to prevent North Korea from developing its nuclear program, the international community is continuing drastic sanctions to cut off Pyongyang’s sources of revenue. The UN Security Council continues to extend its resolution sanctioning North Korea while the US, Japan, Australia and the EU are enhancing their unilateral sanctions against Pyongyang.
