South Korean sunken ferry death toll passes 100

(VOVworld) – The confirmed death toll from Sewol, the South Korean sunken ferry, has amounted to 104, while 198 people remain missing and 174 people have been rescued.

Divers on Monday began to search inside the sunken part of the ferry, but did not find anyone alive or see any sign of life.
The US has sent its navy salvage ship USNS Safeguard to help South Korea with the recovery of Sewol, said the Pentagon. Earlier, US rescue ship USS Bonhomme Richard and divers of the US Navy had joined a rescue campaign near the site of the sunken ferry in South Korea’s southwest sea. The rescue mission is being conducted by 212 ships and 34 airplanes
